Representative Bio
Sharon is a partner in the Pittsburgh office of Siegel Jennings Co., LPA and manages the firm's Pennsylvania practice. She concentrates her practice in representing commercial taxpayers on property tax issues. Sharon has successfully represented taxpayers in numerous real estate tax assessment appeals throughout Pennsylvania's 67 counties at the administrative, trial court and appellate levels. Most recently, she has presented at the national conference of the Appraisal Institute, the National Property Tax Symposium of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, and the Assessors’ Association of Pennsylvania.
Sharon has handled assessment appeals and trials for national and regional owners and tenants of commercial properties including major office buildings, shopping malls, distribution centers, fast food restaurants, big box retailers, pharmacies, strip-style shopping centers, apartment buildings, affordable housing complexes and industrial facilities. Sharon is experienced in other types of real estate litigation such as land use, zoning, eminent domain and lease disputes. In practice since 1994, Sharon is also experienced in a variety of commercial litigation matters including contract, construction and class actions. Her industry experience covers a diverse practice area including banks, transportation, retailers, communication companies and energy clients.
Prior to joining Siegel Jennings Co., LPA, Sharon was a partner at Reed Smith LLP and a partner at Pepper Hamilton LLP. At Pepper Hamilton LLP, Sharon was a founding attorney of the Pittsburgh office and spent fifteen years with the firm, starting as a first-year attorney and was promoted to partner in 2006.
Sharon is a 1988 magna cum laude graduate of Duquesne University and a 1994 cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she was Managing Editor of the University’s Journal of Law and Commerce. In addition to serving as the Western Pennsylvania representative to the American Property Tax Counsel, Sharon is Vice Chair of the organization’s Client Seminar Committee. Sharon is a Member of the Real Property Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association, is an active member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, and is on the Program Committee for the newly-reorganized IPT Pittsburgh Chapter. She is past Chair of the Board of Trustees of Holy Family Learning and past Director of the Board of The Midwife Center, Pittsburgh, PA.

Kieran Jennings is Managing Partner at Siegel Jennings Co., L.P.A. Previously a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Kieran focuses his practice on real property taxation and general state and local tax litigation. He has successfully tried cases before administrative boards, tribunals, courts, and appellate courts, including the Ohio Supreme Court. Kieran has experience in managing real property tax appeals throughout the U.S. and Canada and assists clients in due diligence property acquisitions, tax planning, and structured agreements between taxpayers and taxing jurisdictions.
Kieran is the Vice President and a member of the Executive Board of the American Property Tax Counsel (APTC), a national organization of which Siegel Jennings is a founding member. Kieran is also on the Board of Directors for the Northern Ohio Chapter of NAIOP. Kieran regularly conducts seminars and workshops on numerous on property tax issues to industry groups like the National Retail Round Table, The Ohio Society of CPAs, Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), National Business Institute, and Lorman Education Service.
In 2016, Kieran was awarded the CRE (Counselor of Real Estate) credential by The Counselors of Real Estate, an international group of high-profile real estate practitioners who provide expert advisory services to clients on complex real property and land-related matters. Of the over 150,000 practitioners in commercial real estate today, fewer than 1,100 currently hold the CRE credential.
