Morgan Pottinger McGarvey's State and Local Tax (SALT) attorneys provide comprehensive experience in a variety of Kentucky SALT controversies. We represent large and small businesses and individuals in complex SALT matters. Our attorneys regularly represent clients before the Kentucky Department of Revenue, the Kentucky Claims Commission, and trial and appellate courts regarding property tax, sales and use tax, public service company tax, severance tax, and income tax. We can assist and guide our clients through the entire tax process, from support on audit issues; representation and negotiations with taxing authorities; and litigation before administrative and judicial tribunals.
While we stand ready to litigate SALT issues, we recognize that, in many cases, litigation is not the best outcome for a taxpayer. To that end, our attorneys have a great deal of experience in negotiating with taxing authorities to obtain the most favorable possible settlement for our clients.
